September 22, 2025, Wiarton, ON — On Saturday, September 20, the Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation (BPHF) Board, staff, and a hearty team of early-rising volunteers served up the 4th Annual Hospital Harvest Breakfast without a hitch. Known as “the biggest little breakfast in the north,” the event took place at the Wiarton & District Curling Club, just a stone’s throw from all the Wiarton Fall Fair fun.

A total of 318 hungry guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast while being serenaded with country classics by local three-piece folk band, Blue Sky Day. The event raised $9,000 in support of the Wiarton and Lion’s Head Hospitals.

“I’m incredibly grateful to our dedicated team of volunteers who bring such energy and enthusiasm to this event—it’s hard work, but they make it fun. A special thank you to MPP Paul Vickers for joining us on the serving line,” said April Patry, Executive Director of BPHF. “It was so great to see the community come out in support of local healthcare,” said Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound MPP Paul Vickers. “Local healthcare does not happen without a strong community backing, and the Peninsula knows this well. It was an honour to help out at this great event.”

Patry expressed further gratitude by saying, “I want to extend heartfelt appreciation to our title sponsor, Team Lisk EXP Realty, along with all our generous local sponsors—many of whom have supported the Hospital Harvest Breakfast since the very beginning.”

Sponsors included: McCartney’s Property Management, Outdoor Environments, Wiarton Foodland, Tim Hortons, Shankar Law Office, Bluewater Lavender Farm, Polycor Ontario, Forbes Sand & Gravel, and Owen Sound Vault Works.

Beyond fundraising, the Hospital Harvest Breakfast is a cherished opportunity for BPHF to connect with members of the local community and build awareness about the importance of donor support in ensuring access to quality local healthcare.

“On behalf of our entire BPHF team, I want to thank the Wiarton Agricultural Society and the Wiarton & District Curling Club for being such supportive and encouraging partners,” added Patry. “Really special things happen when great organizations come together—the Hospital Harvest Breakfast is a great example of that.”

The event has become a beloved tradition and will definitely be back again next year.
