Book lovers turned out in droves on August 9 for the sixth annual Friends of the Lion’s Head Library (FLHL) Used Book Sale, a much-anticipated community event that continues to grow in popularity and impact.

Held at the Lion’s Head arena, the sale drew early crowds, with eager patrons lining up well before doors opened to get first pick from the impressive selection of gently used books. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, there was truly something for everyone — from bestsellers and classics to children’s favorites and rare finds.

The success of the event was made possible through the efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers. Special thanks go to the staff of the Northern Bruce Peninsula Municipality, particularly Milt and Jack, and to the members of the Lion’s Head Pickleball Club for their help with setup and takedown.

This year’s sale raised approximately $7,500, all of which will support the Bruce County Library Board in two key areas: purchasing furniture and fixtures for the future new Lion’s Head Library, and funding library programs for the community.

The Friends of the Lion’s Head Library express heartfelt thanks to all who donated, volunteered, and shopped at the sale — and are already looking forward to an even bigger and better event in 2026.
