August is well on her way! Less than two weeks until school is back. There is still so much more to do at the Tobermory Legion!
There is one more chance to dance the night enjoy with the awesome tunes of D.J Maxx, while supporting the local legion on August 30th starting at 9:30pm, with a $10.00 cover charge. All proceeds go to improving the Legion.
Meat draws are every Saturday starting at 4:30pm. Euchre is on the last Friday of the month starting at 7:00pm. Try your luck at darts every Thursday starting at 7:00pm. In addition to all of this fun, Summer BINGO is still going strong – every Wednesday at the Tobermory Community Center. Doors open at 6:00pm and games begin at 7:15pm.
Did you know: Lorne A. Lyons was born on June 21, 1919 in London Ontario. He served on the HMCS Stadacona and the HMCS St. Laurent out of Halifax and the York while in Scotland. After his discharge on September 28, 1945, Lorne and his wife Kay (Kathleen) built Big Tub Lodge in 1966. Lorne retired as an Inspector with the ministry of Transport and he settled in Tobermory in 1982.
