SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT

Submitted by Bonnie Warder

Our main fundraiser for the year – the annual SWANS Fashion Show – was held on May 8th at the arena auditorium in Lion’s Head. The theme of “Bring on Summer” definitely spoke to people as the weather seems very slow to warm up! It was an amazing evening!

As with previous years, our Fashion Show was well received by the community and our Club is so appreciative of the support and success.

Talk about LUCKY – three local businesses were featured at our show. The fashions were from Verna’s in Tobermory, Classie Casuals in Miller Lake and The Shops at 84 Main in Lion’s Head, so please consider them when you are on your next shopping spree because without them, the SWANS couldn’t host this event to raise funds for community projects.

It is a lot of work for the store owners and their models, so a huge thanks to them. The models and fashions were beautiful!

Our group also received stunning items for our Silent Auction Table. We want to say a big thank you to the local businesses and individuals for the generous donations, and also to the bidders and winners.

We want to say a huge thanks, on behalf of the SWANS, to all the participants, The Rotary Club of Northern Bruce Peninsula, The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula and the helpful arena staff. With your assistance we can continue to contribute to future worthwhile community projects.

On a personal note, I want to thank the SWANS members for all the hard work to make this event happen, you are a great team! What a wonderful community – the SWANS are so grateful for your support! Thanks, thanks, thanks!
