The annual Fall activity of the Lion’s Head Marina Lift Out was scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2022, however due to high winds, it was too dangerous for the crane to operate. Crane day was rescheduled for Thanksgiving Monday, two days later than originally scheduled. On October 10, 2022, 51 boats were finally lifted out of the water and moved to their winter abode.

On October 7 and 8, the Marina was still a hub of activity as boat owners/crew carried out pre-preparation on their boats for the lift-out. On October 10, with the hired Crane on site at the Marina, some boat owners took their boats out for a final cruise while waiting for the lift out; and there was the usual attendance of boat owners and helpers to attach the sling for the boats and to secure the boats on their cradles for winter.

It is also a favorite spectator sport for locals and tourists to watch the activities.
