The Tenth Annual Ken Hodge Sailboat Races took place on 18 and 19 September 2021. On Saturday with very windy conditions, nine boats competed in the fall races which is named in honour of former Harbourmaster Ken Hodge. On Sunday with much calmer waters seven boats were out on Isthmus Bay enjoying the favorable conditions.
On Saturday, there was a collision between two of the sailboats. Three doctors crewing on the other boats quickly responded, luckily no one was seriously injured.
The Sunday race always raises funds for the Terry Fox Run and this year the Sailboat Race donated $2140 to the Terry Fox Run.
Overall Winners
The overall winners for the weekend races were:
1st – Elusive – Tim Matheson of Lion’s Head – Captain
2nd – Wicked R – Colin Todd of Kitchener – Captain
