We are deeply saddened to share the news that Glenn passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2026 at the age of 65. He was born July 26, 1961 and raised in Tobermory Ontario. Glenn’s family owned and operated the full service Highway Market, where he learned and honed his business and entrepreneurial skills. Glenn attended Ryerson Institute of Technology, Toronto, where he studied electrical engineering. After graduation he joined Bell Canada and began his career in telecommunications. He was soon recruited by AT&T Canada where he met his US coworker and future wife Mary Hoover. Glenn and Mary wed in 1994 and son James arrived to complete their family in 1995. They made their permanent home in Minneapolis, MN, and Glenn proudly became a naturalized US citizen. Always a man to spot opportunities and take the risks, he left corporate world and started his first company Minnesota Gateway. It rapidly became the largest private internet company in Minnesota. Glenn expanded into Allied Generators and commercial real estate. Going into retirement years he split his time between the city life of Minneapolis, the small-town living in Isle MN on the shores of Mille Lacs at their lake house and annual return trips to Tobermory. Glenn is survived by wife Mary of 32 years, son James, siblings Laurie of Tobermory, Tony (Sharon) of Dyers Bay, Lindy of Owen Sound and sister-in-law Laurie (Kevin) of Hamilton. The Hoover in-laws: Tim, John, Robert, Betsy Rakotz, Dianne Coughlin, Laurel, Susan (Vince), Sheila and Anne Vogel (Dan). Glenn relished his role as “Uncle Glenn” to many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Cleve and Jean Adams, brother Kevin, his in-laws Joe and Polly Hoover, brothers in law Joe Hoover, Bruce Guild, Darrell Rakotz and Wes Vaught.
