An intimate gathering of United Church goers and invited guests attended the Dedication Service for the Labyrinth on the grounds of the Lion’s Head United Church on September 19, 2021. The Dedication Service was conducted by Rev Terry Samuel.
The seven path labyrinth was constructed on the lawn beside the Lion’s Head United Church on Main Street in the Spring of 2020. The Lion’s Head Church states “The Labyrinth is a lasting symbol of a pilgrim’s journey toward truth, understanding, peace and faithful engagement with the gift of life. It provides opportunities for meditation, spiritual awareness and a growing appreciation for quiet times in a busy world.”

The Labyrinth was designed by Jan MacKie and constructed by Peninsula Out of Doors. The project supported by the United Church Congregations of Lion’s Head and Pike Bay was funded in part by a grant from the United Church of Canada “Embracing the Spirit Fund”, the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula and private donations.
Everyone is invited to take a moment and walk the Labyrinth. An interpretive plaque explains the historical significance of the Labyrinth and explains how to walk the path.
