The Lion’s Head Skate Club (LHSC) will be kicking off our season on September 28th! You can find the schedule on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/lionsheadskatingclub.

This first week we suspect the Arena entry to be a bit busy due to paperwork and records of vaccination checks. Once we have a master list this process will move much more quickly for future arrivals. Please bear with us this first week! You will also be receiving your fundraising catalogues.

CANskaters – please make sure your skaters have warm clothing – mittens and a helmet. Any skaters with long hair we ask that hair is tied back so as to not fall in their face. All of our coaches and STAR skate volunteers will be on the ice ready to welcome our CANskaters. If you need any assistance getting your child to the ice surface please let us know! You may wish to arrive a bit early on the first night.

Please make sure your child goes to the washroom prior to getting on the ice. Water bottles can be kept at the ice entrance – make sure names are on the bottle.

** IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD’S PHOTO USED ON FACEBOOK OR IN OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER PLEASE SEND US AN EMAIL!

PRE-STAR & STAR Skaters –

You will need to have your hair pulled back away from your face.

Be ready at the ice surface for your allotted time – make sure you have used the washroom prior to entering the ice surface. Water bottles can be kept at the ice entrance.

Change rooms are available – you can NOT hang out in the change rooms, they are for changing and putting skates on only!! NO food or drink is allowed in the changerooms.

** FIRST NIGHT – Please come with 2-3 songs written down with your name – Coach Cindy has announced that our theme this year is “OFF TO THE MOVIES” So please choose your favourite songs from any movie – write down the name of the song and the movie it is from.

If you choose not to hand in song suggestions our Coaching staff will be choosing for you. Remember these are suggestions only. Our coaches will do their best to take your ideas into consideration but in the end it is the coach’s decision.

Off-Ice training will take place on Thursdays – we have a new Trainer joining us this year! Anna Martens is a qualified trainer with a degree in sport & exercise science and her background in personal training and group fitness will definitely take our skaters to the next level!

** IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD’S PHOTO USED ON FACEBOOK OR IN OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER PLEASE SEND US AN EMAIL!

LHSC would also like to WELCOME BACK Mary Robbins to the Arena Booth! If you don’t know Mary she makes amazing soups and she loves to cook! We are excited to have her back this season!!

As always the first couple weeks will be a bit hectic while we all settle back in to arena life so if you have any questions or concerns please make them aware to any of our Executives! You can speak to any of us at the arena Tuesdsay-Thursday or send us an email to lionsheadskateclub@gmail.com
