Join the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group (BPEG) for our July meeting turned field trip! A tour of 6 Sylvia Street, Lion’s Head on Wednesday, July 2nd at 7pm. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated.
On this field trip, we will visit Glen Estill’s residence, which was constructed based on PassiveHaus design principles and operates with a Net Zero energy profile. We will delve into the construction of this innovative home and highlight its numerous features, including:
-The house’s location and how its orientation optimally harnesses the sun’s path
-Superior insulation quality, weatherproofing, and air sealing techniques
-Utilization of radiant heating and thermal storage systems
-Generation of sufficient solar electricity to meet all energy requirements
-Use of energy-efficient appliances, lighting, and an electric vehicle
