At our regular Club meeting held Tuesday, June 2nd at Rotary Hall, Lena Hofstrand and Gage Robbins gave an inspiring presentation about their recent participation in the ‘Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly: Seminar for Tomorrow’s Leaders’ which was held at Western University in London, Ontario between May 8th and 10th.
Gage and Lena are Grade 11 students from Bruce Peninsula District School, and our Club sponsored both students and paid their expenses to attend this conference where they developed leadership skills through interactive activities and lectures – these will prove to be important skills in their academic and personal lives! The leadership conference also provided an opportunity for Lena and Gage to meet a number of Rotary exchange students from different countries.
Our next Friday Pub Night this month will be June 19th. In addition to a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, a variety of snacks (such as flatbread pizzas) are available at Rotary Pub Nights. You can also purchase boxes of Girl Guides cookies at the Rotary bar! Please join us for fun Friday Pub Nights at the Rotary Hall!
Also this month, Rotarians Cathryn and Tom Buckley and Denise Blay will tend bar for the Tobermory Fashion Show on Thursday, June 11th at the Tobermory Community Centre.
Our next community Pancake Breakfast will be held at the Rotary Pavilion by Lion’s Head Beach on Sunday, July 5th, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Come join us for a delicious breakfast of buttermilk & vanilla pancakes with real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, seasoned hash browns, orange juice and coffee/tea, served by Rotarians and Friends of Rotary.
Photos from our most recent community Pancake Breakfast event – the first in 2026 – can be found at https://www.rotarynbp.org/photoalbums/pancake-breakfast-may-17-2026
Once again, Rotary thanks our individual and corporate sponsors who generously donate product and money to help defray our costs of putting on these breakfast events, allowing us to return more of the proceeds back to the community of Northern Bruce Peninsula! We hope to see you at our next Pancake Breakfast!
