Last year’s Lion’s Head Terry Fox event may be hard to beat with an outstanding fundraising amount of over $19,000 and over 100 participants joining in the shoreline event along Isthmus Bay road. But this year we are hoping our NEW LOCATION will encourage and invite even more families and community members to come out for a great cause!
Join us on September 14th at the Lion’s Head Beach Pavilion. Our run, walk, ride event will start at 1pm. You can register online ahead of time at https://run.terryfox.ca/92870 or register with us on the day. With the location change we are hoping to see many families enjoy the beach, have easier access to the washrooms and give us some much-needed shade. In recent years it has been a full sun, scorching hot event, and with this summer so far, that doesn’t look likely to change. The lake is right there for us all to cool off in once finished, who doesn’t love a cold plunge!

There will be a limited number of t-shirts available in sizes XL-small adult sizes and youth mediums. T-shirts are $30 and $25 for youth. Other sizes and items can be found at shop.terryfox.org. All funds from the t-shirt sales go to the Terry Fox organization. Once you finish your walk, run, ride effort there will be refreshments and hotdogs available.
It is never too early to start collecting your fundraising donations for your run, walk or ride effort. Our route is roughly 10km from the pavilion on Forbes St, up Scott St to Cindy Lou’s, up Main St then heading north along Isthmus Bay Road to the end and back again. You can do any distance you want on the day, as Terry said, you just have to ‘Finish It’ whatever goal that may be!
We are looking forward to seeing many of you on September 14th at the Lion’s Head Beach!
