If you require an Easter Hamper from the Tobermory Food Bank, or know of someone who does, please call Linda at 519-596-2333 to register for one. The Hampers will be ready for pick up on Thursday April 18th for those who have registered. The pick-up time is between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Meeting Place.
Historically, the winter months are the busiest for the Tobermory Food Bank, and this year is no different. Our shelves are becoming bare and donations of most needed items would be most welcome. Those items include Kraft Dinner, packaged pasta meals and pasta sauce. Also, chunky style soups, as well as regular canned soup, canned salmon, tuna and ham. Juice boxes are always in demand as is canned fruit. Canned vegetables including canned potatoes, corn, peas and carrots are also needed. Peanut Butter and jam are very welcomed. And there is always a need for toilet tissue, Kleenex and paper towel.
If you wish to donate food items, they can be dropped off at the Tobermory Post Office, or the Meeting Place during Food Bank hours, Tuesdays 1-3 p.m. As noted in every column, the generosity of our community is amazing and allows us to continue to assist those most in need in our community.
