The Bruce Men’s Shed offers various interests and some members come out for the meetings, or coffee morning Mondays, or hikes. Others might be out of town but enjoy being part of the Shed by updates.
This month we are into our third month of Tuesday’s Scale Model group and we now plan to continue into March. Feel free to stop on Tuesday mornings from 9-11am to see what we’re up to, have a coffee, and potentially join in. Bring in a model or we can help get one for you. We have free use of our tools, glues, and paints and offer plenty of help.
We are about to kick off cooking/baking classes where you can learn the skills to make a variety of things. We have breakfast dishes, pot pies, stews, soups, breads in mind as well as selecting cuts of meat, how to prepare and cook them.
For our woodworkers and those wanting to learn we have a number of projects we plan to kick off. Bat houses, cornhole boards & scoreboards, accessible picnic tables and more.
In April Bruce Men’s Shed will celebrate its first full year and we are planning a breakfast event, more information next month.
We are exploring ways to help in the community and are aware that drivers are needed in North Bruce to help move people to health clinics, and that visitors are needed for those who cannot get out of their homes. Anyone who volunteers for these can be paid for mileage, contact Cody at chay@hcssgreybruce.com
In addition to this, if you or someone you know needs help with accessibility but doesn’t have the resources to make improvements we may be able to help, please see our contact information below.
Weekly: Monday Morning Coffee 9-11am.
Monthly Meeting: Saturday March 16th 9-11am at Legion 202 on highway 6 just north of Ferndale. Doors open at 8:30.
