It is time to register for Easter Hampers at Tobermory Food Bank for those in need of some help to have a Holiday Meal. You can register at the Tobermory Food Bank during regular day and time – Tuesdays between 1-3 p.m. Or you can call Linda at 519-596-2333 or Jim at 519-375-7010. Please try to register by Tuesday March 19th.
Without the support of our many donors, we would not be able to supply Hampers at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is wonderful to think the Community endeavours to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, can share in the celebratory meals that we have three times a year. With the increase in visits to Tobermory Food Bank in the past months, that support is more than ever appreciated.
One example of community support is a project that Tobermory United Church is undertaking again this year. People are asked, if they are able, to put aside a Food Bank item or a small amount of cash every day during the 40 days of Lent. This endeavour was very successful last year with many items donated as well as money donations. This undertaking is not limited to those attending Tobermory United, but anyone who would like to adopt the practice during this time.
There are many ways to donate. You can donate at Tobermory Post Office, Tobermory United Church when open, or cash donations can be e-transferred to tobermoryfoodbank@gmail.com or mail a cheque to 211 Eagle Rd, Tobermory ON, N0H 2R0. Or at the check-out at Peacock’s you can make a donation that is applied to the Food Bank account.
