With the fresh snowfall, happy hikers, snowshoers, and fat bikers alike have joined in on winter treks. As there was a slow start to the season, the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association and Ecoadventures welcomed these adventurers with open arms for the first Snowshoe the Grotto of the season. Guide Caley Doran and sweep Krista Dovaston led a group through the frozen inland lakes, traversed billowy snow-draped landscapes, and taught attendees how to recognize animal tracks and calls while savouring the solitude of this rugged icy paradise.
Expert guide Rick Roman, accompanied by sweep, Mike Sehl, led a unique two-wheel exploration of Peninsula destinations with a twist of speed and a dash of momentum on fat bikes. The fat bikes are off-road bicycles with oversized tires designed to provide traction on snow and ice in the winter.
All proceeds from EcoAdventures treks goes towards Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association projects.
We are happy to announce that we are working hard at getting the free Bayside Astronomy program up and running for this summer season so that we all can enjoy the dark skies with astronomers through their telescopes.
It is easy to fall in love with the natural beauty of the Peninsula, make this Valentines Day extra special by taking your loved ones on a romantic adventure in the great outdoors.
