Garden in Thyme Country Market near Ferndale reopened its doors on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. On offering were a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, pickles, jams and jellies. The new airy open-concept store with a certified kitchen will offer all the old favorites such as locally grown or locally sourced fruits and vegetables; maple syrup, honey, preserves, jams, jellies, pickles and Molly’s famous baked goods such as pies, tarts and bread.
In April of this year, the previous building was completely destroyed by fire caused by a faulty space heater. Danny and Molly Bridge have operated a market garden business for the past 15 years and about six years ago built a greenhouse and a retail store with a certified kitchen on their farm property.
With community support, and family and friends pitching into help with the rebuild, the winterized new building was able to open for business a mere six months later.
The Bridges say they are excited to be able to re-employ their staff, offer a retail outlet for local vendors and see the end of their insurance hassles.Currently, updates on the opening hours for the store are available on their Facebook page.
They plan to open Thursday – Saturday until December 19.
