Tobermory Chamber of Commerce held its fall Annual General Meeting Oct 28, on Zoom. It was lightly attended, with approximately 20 people logged in.
The main agenda items for a fall AGM are reviewing the finances, catching up on the season’s events and electing a new executive.
The Chamber’s financial situation is strong and stable. The summer went well. In particular, an information table presence at the head of Little Tub Harbour was very popular and productive.
Three of the five sitting directors asked to resign if replacements could be found; three members expressed willingness to take up the challenge. Retiring from the Executive are President Kent Wilkens (he will stay on the board as Past President), Helen McFarlane (she will continue to work with various Chamber initiatives) and John Francis. New directors are Rudolf Van Leusen (of Jacob’s Stone B&B), Lindsey Griffith (of Reader’s Haven bookstore) and Jacquie Crowley (representing Grandview Motel).
Remaining on the board are Griffin Salen (Blue Heron) and Brent Robins (Bruce Anchor).
