Summer House Park Food Drive Collects 97 kg of Food

Submitted by Darlene Myles

We were so pleased to distribute 26 hampers for Thanksgiving this year. Recipients received all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The Rotary Club of Northern Bruce Peninsula very graciously donated $500.00 to cover the cost of the turkeys.

Food donations have been coming in steadily in the past few weeks. Summer House Park organized their annual food drive and donated 97 kg of food. WOW!! Special thanks to Mimi Riddell who spear-headed the first food drive at Summer House Park.

The campers at Mountain Trout Camp at Gillies Lake also held their annual end of season food drive for the Food Bank. 21.6 kg of non-perishable food items were collected. Great Job!

The Food Bank appreciates all donations of food, money or gift cards. It is a pleasure to work alongside the entire community to provide hampers to those struggling to make ends meet.
