The Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary would like to thank our great community for all the contributions we received for our Clothing Drive. We were able to fill one truck and half of another.

All donations go to the Kidney Foundation, a program raising funds for Kidney research. The Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary receives .13 cents a pound for all donations.

It was a cold, wet day but, thanks to the Rotary Club and their great tent, we managed to stay dry!

We would also like to thank Ted Hayes for the use of his property. It made it so easy for the donors to drive up to the tent, the volunteers to take the donations from the vehicles, and everyone could stay six feet apart!

Our next fundraiser is the online Christmas Silent Auction, and the selling of Christmas Gnomes and Table Top Greenery (see info below).

Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile cause.

Great Things Coming Soon!

After over 18 months of no meetings, work parties or regular fundraising events, the Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary (LHHA) is ready to get to work again.

Thanks to Linda Holden’s plant sales, and Brenda Kearney and Fred & Nancy Heise and their mini yard sale, we haven’t been completely silent, but now it is time to resume our fundraising activities. So watch for our upcoming events in the weeks to come.

Since we are still under Covid-19 protocols, our events will be pretty much governed by social media. Nancy Lajoie, Barb Dawson and their elves will work their magic to produce Gnomes and Greenery Centerpieces in place of last year’s Poinsettia sale. Watch for details in the next Bruce Peninsula Press.

The Second Annual Online Auction will happen again this year – more items, large and small, and just in time for your Christmas shopping! Since we are unable to hold the Cookie Walk this year we will be adding some baking and specialty items to the Online Auction as well.

The pandemic has put a great strain on our local merchants and so we will not be approaching them for donations. However, we would most certainly appreciate any contribution our local businesses or individual citizens would care to make to the LHHA in our continued efforts to support healthcare on “the Bruce”.

Contact Nancy Strang at 519-793-4576 or wstrang@rogers.com or any LHHA member for more information.

Watch for our posters, articles, etc. in the next issue of the Bruce Peninsula Press. Great things coming SOON!!
