Passing the Baton at Lion’s Head & District Foodbank – Charlene Scharlach New Foodbank Co-ordinator

The Lion’s Head & District Foodbank is excited to announce that Charlene Scharlach has taken over as new Foodbank Co-ordinator. Charlene has been an active Director on the Foodbank Board as well as volunteering on hamper days and organizing and distributing the special holiday hampers. 

Charlene is passionate about food insecurity in our community and has the personality and skills to be very successful in her new role.

Bruce Area Recycling from Southampton recently hosted their 27th annual food drive. Food Banks within Bruce County benefited from this drive with the Lion’s Head & District Foodbank receiving 565 pounds of non-perishable food items.

It was a very busy summer at the foodbank with six new regular monthly clients. Donations such as this are greatly appreciated!
