Yard Sale Fundraiser June 22nd – Happenings at Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202

The Lion’s Head Legion continues to help fundraise for the school trip to Europe. The next fundraiser is a yard sale to be held at the Legion on Saturday June 22nd from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Items for the yard sale can be dropped off at the legion on Thursday June 20 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. or Friday June 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Donated items should be gently used or nearly new. Mattresses and large appliances will not be accepted. 

Lottery chair, Donald Colter, presented the $500.00 prize from the special lottery draw to Wendi Schwindt. We thank Wendi for donating $250.00 of her winnings back to the Legion to be donated to the Lion’s Head Bruce Peninsula District School (BPDS) for the student trip to Europe in May 2025. Watch for announcements in the Bruce Peninsula Press as more fundraisers are planned by the school and the community. Thank you to Ross Webb for taking the picture.

There will be a fly-in at the Goderich airport on June 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. The Lancaster Aircraft will fly into Goderich from Hamilton for the celebration of the Anniversary of the Canadian Air Force. The Lancaster Aircraft was on display at the Goderich Airport until the Lancaster went to Hamilton to be rebuilt. The Lancaster continues to fly to special events.

Some of the newly elected executive with President Richard Smith will attend a Leadership Development session on June 2, at 12:30 p.m. at the Owen Sound Legion. 

Volunteers are needed for the District C Track and Field Meet on Saturday June 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kincardine Davidson Centre. If you are interested please call Kim White at 519-534-5696.

The Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202 has the honour of hosting the District C-4 Fall Convention 2024 on Sunday September 15, 2024 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Approximately 12 Legions in Bruce Grey counties will be represented. Due to the large number of attendees the Legion Branches will meet at the Rotary Hall. There will be a parade to the Lion’s Head cenotaph in Remembrance. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to attend to remember with us and demonstrate your support of the veterans and the Legions. 

Corn Hole begins on Thursday May 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Fee is $2.00. If it is a rainy day, darts will be played inside.
