LION’S HEAD — The Lion’s Head Friends of the Library held their Annual General Meeting on June 1 at Rotary Hall, bringing members together to review the year’s activities and plans for the future.

Following the meeting, attendees enjoyed a presentation by guest speaker Beth Gilhespy, who took the audience on a virtual hiking journey through five trails on the Saugeen Peninsula. Gilhespy highlighted the region’s remarkable geological features, focusing on the unique formations of the Niagara Escarpment and their significance to the landscape of the Saugeen Peninsula.

Those interested in learning more about the area’s geological history can purchase copies of Gilhespy’s latest book, Walking Through Time: Exploring Niagara Escarpment Geology of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula, available at The Shops at 84 Main in Lion’s Head or you can borrow the book from your local library.

The Friends of the Library are now preparing for their annual Used Book Sale and are accepting donations of gently used books beginning June 16 at the arena. (Please no donation drop-offs on Sundays or Mondays.)

The annual Used Book Sale will take place on August 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers encourage community members to donate books and attend the sale in support of local library programs and initiatives.
