Stopped in Awe: News from Tobermory United
Submitted by Rev. Sheryl Spencer
Save the date for the annual Tobermory United St. Nicholas Bazaar, which will be held November 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Tobermory Community Centre! This is a beloved community event that features local craft vendors, an epic bake table, pizza and soup lunch, silent auction, and, of course, Northern Twisted Roots’ rustic treasures created from re-claimed vintage household items!
The Bazaar committee has realized that it can never re-create Vi Adams’ pies, after Vi’s passing in 2024, but the committee will, however, offer small-size homemade apple, blueberry and cherry pies that can be ordered prior to the bazaar. Call the church at 519-596-2394 to place an order. Those who are crafty are welcome to offer their creations – cards, decorations, stained glass, woodwork, etc. – for donation to the bazaar, and bakers are welcome to donate baking for sale, with the favourites being brownies, homemade bread and preserves.
Many, many thanks again to all who have supported the Tobermory Thrift Shop this season. The Thrift Shop, located at 7101 Hwy. 6, still has much stock available and remains open on Saturdays until Thanksgiving weekend from 1 to 4 p.m.
Tobermory United has so much to be thankful for, especially the support of an engaged and vibrant community. Blessings to all as you celebrate Thanksgiving.
