The Lion’s Head Friendship Club has been bustling with activity again. September included a free pottery making day, sponsored by the Senior Active Living Grant by our provincial government. Nicole Gamble instructed the ladies how to have fun with clay and each lady got to take home several pieces including bowls and necklaces which were all beautiful.
Our next free craft day on October 8th is hosted by Forty Hills Farm & Flowers. “Flower Power” will be using pumpkins and flowers to make lovely Fall centerpieces.
Our September dinner was sold out and enjoyed by all. Maxine and her helpers prepared a delicious roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed vegetables and pumpkin pie dinner for all. October’s dinner is a choice of chicken or shrimp primavera with Caesar salad and dessert. Tickets are available now at a cost of $15 for members.
We have monthly club lunches and dinners which are always delicious. On Thursday, October 9th we are having a FREE lunch and learn at 12pm sponsored by the Senior Active Living Grant. The members meeting will be at 11:15am, followed by our guest speaker, Nicoletta Jenson, a Lawyer from Sauble Beach. If you are interested in coming out for this event, please call 519-793-3101 and leave a message.
On Thursday, October 23rd, we are going on a trip to St. Jacobs Playhouse to see “Misery” with dinner at Anna Mae’s on the way back. At the time of this article there are still a couple of tickets available. If you are interested, please contact Maxine at 519-375-0959.
There is always lots going on at the Friendship Club such as; chair yoga, euchre, line dancing and rug hooking. So, if you are looking for something fun to do and a way to connect with community members this is the place for you!
