September 21 to 27 is Legion week nationally and is the third year for this event, now held on the third Sunday of September. The idea is decades old, but holding it on a consistent schedule across the country is still new. The intent is to educate their community about the work the legion does to support military and RCMP veterans and how this contributes to the community.

We have transitioned from Cornhole to darts now, every Monday and Thursday. Cost is $3.00 to play. There are snacks and refreshments available including the bar. Play starts at one o’clock so please arrive ten minutes before so teams can be made up. All skill levels are welcome, as I can attest. Lots of fun, come out and see. You do not have to be a legion member to play.

Also, the first Saturday of every month we play “darts for meat”, which makes me laugh every time I hear it. Cost is $4.00. Saturday October 4th will be the first monthly event. It starts at one on every first Saturday of the month.

Legion 202 is located at 6 Hellyer Road, Lion’s Head just north of Ferndale on Highway 6. Reach us at branch202pro@gmail.com
