Join the ‘NBP 30 Days of Terry’ Team

Do you participate in the Terry Fox Run every year? Would you like to switch it up this year and do a challenge for the 45th Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run? Join the ‘NBP 30 Days of Terry’ team.
Terry Fox is my hero and I’ve been doing the Terry Fox Run every year since my mom, Edna Hastings, died of cancer. Four years ago on the 30th anniversary of her death, I decided to #TryLikeTerry and do 10km a day for the month of September and a few friends joined me. This year, the team name is changing from 10km|30day to ‘30 Days of Terry’. We are rebranding to make it more inclusive. This year each team member picks their own daily distance goal.
What do you need to do?
Pick a daily distance goal like 2km, 4.5km, 5km, 10km or 10,000 steps. Do the distance everyday in September #NoMatterWhat. You can walk, run, hike, bike, or paddle (kayak, SUP, canoe). And you can switch up your activity every day.
Our doggos are an important part of our team. Huron, Bosco, Otto and Frankie love it when we select hiking as the day’s activity.
#DearTerry ran 42km for 143 days to raise funds and awareness for cancer research before his cancer returned. We can #TryLikeTerry and do 30 Days of Terry to #FinishIt.
If this challenge intrigues you but you’re not sure what distance to pick, try 4.5 km. Why? It is the 45th Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run and 4.5km would be a great goal to set to #FinishIt.
If you miss a few days, no one will get kicked off the team. The goal is to #TryLikeTerry and do it everyday for 30 days.
Come on Northern Bruce Peninsula let’s #TryLikeTerry and do 30 Days of Terry #NoMatterWhat and #FinishIt to raise funds for cancer research. Last year the team raised $5,500 for cancer research.
