On June 25th, Keep The Bruce Clean & Green (KTBC&G) joined St. Edmunds Public School Litter Ambassadors and their families for a Pizza Day lunch. Parents and teachers have encouraged the young people to Keep The Bruce Clean & Green and remind them to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and especially RESPECT Mother Earth, no matter where they are!

We are thanking the young Litter Ambassadors by donating part of their pizza costs! We are also giving them “Mother Earth – Thank You” bags, and donating $500.00 to their new playground equipment drive! You could say that their interest and initiative to help us has gone FULL CIRCLE!

We have been able to “give back” mainly because of our bottle return donations. Do you contribute to our bottle return? Please be sure you have the right location: 182 Cape Hurd Road, turn in and drive down the driveway and the drop off, is on the right. We do it this way, rather than roadside, out of respect for the neighbours. Please look for our KTBC&G sign. We also have a drop off location behind the Chamber of Commerce information booth at the head of Little Tub Harbour.

If you would like to reinforce our support for the children’s pick up efforts, please consider making a personal donation Just check out their facebook page St. Edmunds Public School Playground Initiative or call the school at 519-596-2390. Let’s reference “KTBC&G” to see how thankful and generous we are for their clean up efforts. Tax receipts are available for amounts over $20.00 that are given online.

The answer in preserving the Bruce and “Mother Earth” is education, and thankfully, there is a continual effort occurring at St. Edmunds Public School. When you see these young people picking up litter, please Thank them. Have a safe and happy summer Litter Ambassador friends!

The Green Tomato Cage Garbage Blitz continues on long weekends. If you need green bags and/or cages contact keepthebruceclean@gmail.com.

If you have a lot of foot traffic, it is amazing how much garbage is collected! Check out Big Tub Road – we keep the bags up all season!

Thanks to all our supporters!
