SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT
Our June meeting was very busy! Our Club always enjoys a delicious dinner prepared by the Legion Ladies, but at our June meeting, we were surprised with a luscious dessert. I am not sure of the proper name but it was shaped like a swan and had lots of whipped cream! That was the 1st treat of the evening.
The next treat was a very interesting talk by Dr. Heather Reid regarding Women’s Health. She was very informative and entertaining. We were able to ask questions of both Dr. Reid and Dr. Claire Bodkin. What an amazing pair of Doctors that our community is so fortunate to have on our Health Team. Thanks to them for taking the time to provide such valuable information.
The 3rd treat of the evening was the Induction of 3 new members. Dannah Oliver performed the Induction Ceremony and we welcome Donna Cowan, Lynda Lemmon and Sharon Yenta to the Peninsula SWANS.
Our Club does not hold regular business meetings in July and August but we do have several catering commitments lined up and plans are in place for them. Watch for us in the Canada Day Parade on June 28th in Lion’s Head. We are lucky to have some crafty people in our group and we are proud Canadians!
