Construction of the new Harbourside Music stage has begun and is expected to take several weeks to complete.
The stage design was a cooperative effort by local musicians. Rod Layman, one of the organizers of Harbourside Music, did the technical drawings and submitted the plans for approval by the Municipality. Rod Layman, Gerry Gregory and Dominik Franken are organizers of Harbourside Music, and are actively involved in the planning process for the new stage.
The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula provided funding for the construction materials. Labour for building the stage is being provided by local volunteers, local musicians and volunteers from the Bruce Men’s Shed.
The builders expect the leveling and framing of the stage to be completed by next week. They hope to have the stage mostly completed by the first Harbourside Music concert which is scheduled for 27 June 2025.
