The demolition of the adjacent cottage on October 15th marked the official beginning of a long-awaited renovation and expansion taking place at the Tobermory Princess Hotel and Pharos Restaurant in Tobermory.
After 9 years of planning, owner Anna Roussakis is excited for the expansion and what it will offer the community.
The expansion includes an additional 20 rooms, 12 of them offering waterfront views, and a large event space that will accommodate approximately 150 people – available for corporate functions, weddings and community events.
The business will be closing October 28th and, subject to any unforeseen circumstances, plans to reopen February 1st. Renovations will be taking place to existing rooms while the restaurant and hotel are closed. Some of the existing brick will be reused.
Local contractor Allen Hastings has been contracted for the work; Mike Robins Contracting Ltd completed the demolition of the cottage beside the Princess where the expansion will be taking place.
