Wow! What A Party

The Golden Dawn has a BIG party to celebrate the residents’ birthdays once a month. July is the month that the SWANS Club has hosted for many years. During my time with the organization, it has been the responsibility of Shirley Petroff and June Hepburn but now the torch has been handed to Dannah Oliver. The Convenors always make a special effort to highlight the special occasions and this year was no exception. Dannah suggested the party be on the same day as the “Ferndale Flats” were going to be there entertaining and what a great idea!
The residents being honoured in July were Betty, Brad and Gloria. Dannah and her crew that consisted of Caroline and Cathy presented them with cards and beautiful cupcakes for all to enjoy. This year was Gloria McNair’s 100th birthday and she, along with the other residents, really appreciate the wonderful music provided by the local group, “Ferndale Flats”. Just imagine the changes that Gloria has seen in 100 years but the one thing that hasn’t changed is that Gloria loves to dance and it is so great that she can still “burn up the dance floor”! Thanks to all those that made this party happen.
So far, it has been a quiet summer for the SWANS and we hope everyone is taking some time to soak up the sun, when it appears.
