Hellyer’s Foodland will be reopening soon. The Hellyers were hoping to reopen for the Victoria Day weekend but that date has slipped into June. Kara Hellyer says “please stay tuned as we navigate final touches, that can be unpredictable for setting a reopening date!” A contractor was happy to report “things are coming along”, as everyone works diligently towards reopening.

Kyle and Kara Hellyer say that they “have many people to thank for all the hard work these past many months. Family, most importantly, has been there for us.”

Staff is currently being hired for the grocery store. And the Hellyers are very excited to welcome back most of their previous employees.

The Hellyers promise “A full update will be coming soon, including the re-opening date!“

Since the Lion’s Head Foodland will not be open for the May Long Weekend, the Hellyers wish to remind customers and visitors that are coming to Lion’s Head and environs to come prepared with some food.  However, there are also many local options for grocery items, such as Garden in Thyme, Scott’s Home Hardware, Bains General Store, The Shops at 84 Main, the Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market, Bear Tracks Inn & Restaurant, Tru Food Café, Peacock’s Foodland, the Tobermory Marketplace and local producers.
