BrushStrokes: Exploring Light and Shadow

An art exhibit featuring works from members of the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists (BPSA) will be held at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton from June 1 to September 2, 2024.
BPSA held an exhibit in 2023 at the Museum, which was so well received by the public that the group was invited back for a 2024 show. Show organizer and BPSA member Lin Souliere remarked that it is “a compliment to the local artists to be invited back by a Museum of that calibre.”
The theme “BrushStrokes: Exploring Light and Shadow” was chosen by the BPSA Board of Directors in honour of BrushStrokes, the Quarterly Newsletter that the BPSA published from 1997 to 2017.
Members were invited to submit their artwork by May 1 for this juried exhibit. Thirty-one artists submitted 87 pieces of artwork including paintings, photography, print-making, three-dimensional work in glass or clay and fibre art. Three jurors, who are not members of BPSA, will make the final selection.
The art exhibit in Southampton will showcase 30 to 40 pieces of artworks. The exhibit runs from June 1 to September 2, 2024 at The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, 33 Victoria St N, Southampton. For information on opening times, please visit https://www.brucemuseum.ca/
