Spring has arrived supposedly and hopefully by the time you read this it has warmed up. The Lion’s Head Friendship Club has been busy during this time planning and getting new programming in place.
We have several trips planned for the spring – one to Stratford to see Annie, one to Bellmore for the pancakes and one to the Hamilton Botanical Gardens. We still have room on the Hamilton trip if anyone’s interested in going (only 10 seats left on the bus). The cost of the trip is $80, which includes a guided tour of the gardens, a stop at Terra Greenhouses for a browse, and on to supper at Pebbles, all paid for. So, if you’re interested in going, please contact us at the club.
Many things are happening at the club. One of the new programs will be our flower power in conjunction with Forty Hills Farms & Flowers, which we hope to do once a month.
Chair Yoga has been a great success and is continuing weekly.
In the future we are hoping to do a movie night and have some IT training.
We continue to have our monthly lunches, which are $7 and our monthly dinners which usually sell out within the first few days of the tickets going on sale. Our last dinner was a wonderful turkey dinner with approximately 65 people in attendance, followed by line dancing. Our next dinner is going to be a back rib dinner with a Euchre Tournament afterwards. The May dinner tickets will be available at the end of April.
These are some of the things we do at our club. If you’re interested in playing cards we play three times a week and we’re always looking for new players for Bridge, regular Euchre or bid Euchre . We have line dancing and Rug Hooking – we are a busy little place. If you’re looking for something to do, this is the place to be! Come out, make new friends and socialize. Please contact us at thelionsheadfriendshipclub@gmail.com for any information.
