As we hold our elections for the vacated positions, we thank our outgoing executive members for their service, along with all those who accepted their nominations and stood for election. We wish them well in their new positions.
On April 9th we will be voting for a new President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President and Secretary and we are hopeful for a good turn out at the meeting so that we can have adequate representation of the members’ needs. The meeting will be at 4pm and all members are encouraged to attend.
There is also a notice of Motion: at the March 12th meeting a motion was made, and seconded, that we revert back to the original rule at the branch requiring all guests and members to remove their hats upon entering the branch. The motion is on the table and will be voted on by secret ballot at the April 9th meeting.
Saturday night dances have been a longstanding tradition at the branch in the summer, bringing in much needed revenue to the branch and providing a space where people can come out, have some fun and dance the night away. It was discussed at the March meeting that we would like to attempt to return to having a dance every Saturday night of the summer season (July and August at least) but to do that we will need more people to volunteer their time to work the event. If you have your smartserve, we could use you! We will need bartenders, door people and a floater to assist with picking up empties throughout the evening, mopping up spills as they happen and generally making sure people are being respectful. Ideally, we will have enough people so that no one has to work every event, so that no one burns out. If you need further details or if you know someone who might be qualified, please reach out to Ways and Means Chair, Judy Hurst at runjude@gmail.com.
We would also like to thank our Ladies Auxiliary for another successful Easter Egg hunt at the branch this year! We know the kids and kids at heart all have a great time hunting for treasures!
