Remembrance Day Service November 11th

Happy November Branch 290!
While many of us are used to things slowing down in the fall and winter months, things at the Branch are just getting going!
Of course, our most important event on our annual calendar is Remembrance Day. We are happy to be back to our normal services with our legion chaplain Rev Sheryl Spencer presiding. The parade will begin from the branch to the Cenotaph at 10:45am on Saturday, November 11th. Refreshments will be served at the branch immediately following the ceremony, we look forward to seeing you all there.
Friday, November 10th is Trivia Night at 7pm with donations going to the Tobermory Food Bank. Come on out and test your smarts with some friendly competition!
On Tuesday, November 14th Branch 290 will hold our General membership meeting at 8pm. As mentioned in the last edition of the press, there is a motion on the floor with regards to the house rule regarding the wearing of hats inside the branch. While we appreciate all the conversations that have been happening around town regarding this topic, it’s the votes at the meeting that make the changes, so please come out if you want your voice to be heard.
Friday, November 17th, is Euchre with a potluck at 5:30pm followed by game play at 7pm.
Sunday, November 19th, is Grey Cup Sunday, so come on out to cheer on your team on the big screen TV! Doors open at 5pm for potluck, so bring your favourite game day snacks to share during the game which starts at 6pm.
Are you tired yet? We still have one more event at the branch! Come on out on Saturday, November 19th for the Country Dance! Line Dancing lessons will begin at 7:30 for anyone who wants to learn some new movies, and DJ Maxx will be spinning you around the dance floor starting at 9pm! Pulled pork on a bun will be available throughout the evening and all entry fees by donation will be in support of the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
