While the calendar says 2022, not much seems to have changed pandemic wise as we are once again closed. Provincial restrictions have mandated that we be closed and in truth it is safer to do so for our community. Hopefully, the current restrictions will be lifted when stated; we will once again be able to see each other and enjoy socializing at the branch.
Remember, when you enter the branch that Legion rules are that you have to remove your hat. This has always been a rule and the reason for this is in the military there is no rank in the mess hall or canteen, everyone is supposed to be equal; therefore all headwear is removed. As the Legion is an extension of the mess hall or canteen the same rule applies. So, when we reopen and as you walk through the door, stomp the snow off your boots, pull out your proof of vaccine and remove your hat.
The Executive welcomes Linda Bain to the position of Youth Education and Bursary Chair with the Branch. Hopefully there will be a spring speech contest.
Please stay healthy, safe and sane.
