The former Stokes Bay General Store and Post Office has been renovated and reopened as a Vinyl Record Store “I’m a Vinyl Junkie”.
At the open house on June 3, 2023, other vinyl junkies came out to browse the wide selection of records. Something for all music lovers, from classics, rock n’ roll, jazz, folk, country, it is a collector’s dream. A friend of the owner says that 80% of the record albums displayed are what a collector wants, especially first issue records. The store showcases a curated inventory of over 8,000 collectible LPs from the 1950s to present day.

The store has attracted collectors from Toronto and London and Cowen also does mail orders.
Paul Cowen and his wife Cher, former cottagers at Dyers Bay, were drawn to the historic nature of the Stokes Bay property. Cowen, as a post retirement project, decided to indulge his love of vinyl records and open a store dedicated to it. Cowen is happy with the reception of his store by the community.
Cher says Paul has always stayed faithful to vinyl records while others were switching to CDs and other digital forms. He was a record collector at a young age and is very knowledgeable of the history of music and of his collection.
To arrange a private showing, text 519 447 0559 or email pgladdy@hotmail.com. Opening hours June 1 – Sept 30: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store is located at 14 Stokes Bay River Road.
