The Meeting Place has been offering a variety of Food Security Programs to our community since 2015. With the recent inflation in food prices, the number of participants in our programs is growing.

We take an integrated, community based approach where we invite participants to contribute to our organization through various volunteer roles. This approach builds relationships, acknowledges that everyone has something to offer and provides an opportunity for our program participants to build skills and confidence. We are grateful for our dedicated and growing team of volunteers who help keep our programs running. If you have ever volunteered with The Meeting Place, we thank you!

We also want to express gratitude to our many donors who help keep our programs afloat! Since June of 2022 the Good to Go Guided Meal Program has distributed 122 free meal kits (equalling nearly 500 meals) to the community. The value of that food is over $2,200! The cost of those kits has been subsidized in-part by Good to Go participants who contribute financially more than the suggested donation and in part by other donations we receive.

Some of the recent donors who have helped make this possible are: The United Way, RavenStar and OSHaRE; not to mention the anonymous person who has been dropping off jars.

Thanks to everyone who has participated and contributed to our Food Security Programs! If you would like to learn more about or donate to any of our Food Security Programs feel free to contact Beige at food@tobermorymeetingplace.com.
