Keep The Bruce Clean & Green (KTBC&G) would like to sincerely thank the seven hearty souls who braved the weather and participated in the October 15th Cleanup: Heike, Geoff, Kim, Karen, Barb, Nick and Neda! They collected several bags of litter! Helpers back at the Community Centre pulled recyclables from the trash and the number one item was… beer cans!

A few of the hearty souls who braved the weather and participated in the October 15th KTBC&G Cleanup.

At 5:00 the Chili Dinner was served by candidates running for election: Rod Anderson, Yvette Roberts., Smokey Golden, Karen Phillips and Aman Sohrab. A good time was had by all. Door prizes were awarded and free items were given away like tarps to cover curb-side garbage.

We want to thank the Tobermory Chamber of Commerce for covering some of the costs for the Chili which included vegan, beef and turkey chili! Coconut Joe’s for the rolls, The Princess for the coleslaw, Craigie’s for the coffee and the Sweet Shop for the bags of goodies.

Bottle Return Closed for Season

Our bottle return is now closed for the season and will resume in the Spring. We have given $200 each to the United Church, The Legion and The Northern Bruce Rotary Club for recyclable containers to be used at their breakfasts and/or dinners.

We are open to suggestions and if anyone wants to join us, please contact us at keepthebruceclean@gmail.com. We are also on Facebook and Twitter and post Clean and Green tips regularly.

Have a Clean & Green winter, wherever you may be. See you in the Spring!
