A fundraiser for the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre was held in the parking lot of Hellyer’s Foodland in Lion’s Head on Canada Day. Organizer Kara Hellyer was pleased with the great turnout.
Maple Leaf Foods provided the food truck, two servers and the sausages. Hellyers Foodland provided the other food items.
By noon, the Food Truck was sold out, and the Hellyers pulled supplies from their grocery store shelves to replenish stocks. The food truck servers say it was one of the busiest events they have attended.
Hot Dogs, drinks and chips were purchased by donation only; amounting to $1,165 raised. All proceeds will go to the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre.
