On Saturday, June 18 five boats participated in the races with a sixth sailboat joining later on. On Sunday, June 19 six boats took part in the races.

Each day of the two-day event presented challenging and very different sailing conditions which required the race courses and length of the races to be adjusted to respond to the conditions on the Bay.

“The windy and wavy conditions on Saturday produced some adjustments to the races.  The first race was the normal 4 nautical mile course along the shore.  The 2nd race is normally a triangle out to Jackson Shoal, but with the windy and wavy conditions, a double course along the shore was substituted with a length of 8 nautical miles” said organizer Bruce Draper. “On Sunday the wind and wave conditions were the exact opposite.  The course had to be shortened as most boats couldn’t complete the 14 nautical mile course because of lack of wind.”

Elusive (Tim Matheson, Glen Estill) won both races Saturday and Wicked R (Colin Todd) won Sunday’s race.  Overall weekend results saw Elusive 1st, Wicked R 2nd and Aquilla 3rd.
