Submitted by Amanda Quist, OCT

Students at St. Edmunds have continued to persevere at home during online learning.  They have had a virtual visit from a fireman and police officer from Saugeen Valley Children’s Safety Village.

They learned about how and when to call 911, who the community helpers are, bike safety and set up a fire safety plan.

The students have also had a few virtual puppet-show visits from Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey Bruce, where they were taught to love themselves. We also had books shared to us from Ms. Katie from the Library.

Pet show and tell has been a popular occurrence. We have met dogs, cats, guinea pigs and hamsters. The Grade 1/2 class, even participated as Beta testers for two new children’s books.  The author is going to take our thoughts and ideas into consideration for their story.

The children have sent in a few photos of some fun activities they have done while at home.
