Congratulations to Alan Schwieger, winner of the 2024 Bruce Peninsula Telephone Directory Cover Photo Contest. His photo of an American Mink was chosen as the best of many local photos submitted this year.
Alan, a retired teacher, and his wife purchased a cottage on the Bruce Peninsula 14 years ago. This photo of a mink was taken in the morning while it was foraging along the shoreline at their cottage on Spry Shore Rd near Stokes Bay.
“We are avid outdoor enthusiasts and I dabble in wildlife photography.” said Alan. “I often find it rewarding to have my camera nearby at this time of the day.”
As winner of the Phone Book Cover Photo Contest, Tobermory Press donates $300.00 to their charity of choice. Alan has chosen the Bruce Peninsula Hospital Foundation as the recipient.
The Bruce Peninsula Telephone Directory is mailed to every home and business on the Bruce Peninsula from Tobermory to Hepworth. 12,000 directories are being distributed this year.
