OPP Auxiliary Officers deliver the donated items from the “Pack the Cruiser” event to the Lion’s Head & District Food bank.

On Saturday, December 5 the OPP Auxiliary Officers set up their very large vehicle outside Hellyer’s Foodland in Lion’s Head. Once again, the community showed great support! The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank was able to weigh the donated food items this year thanks to The United Way providing a digital scale. 1,225 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected. $599.25 was donated in cash and $205.00 was donated in the form of Foodland gift cards.

Our shelves were getting empty so this event really boosted our supply for the coming Christmas season and winter months ahead. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Hellyer’s Foodland for preparing the pre-packaged items for sale and to the Officers volunteering for this event!
