The little red barn in Dyers Bay was a popular destination again this summer!
A wonderful howling could be heard from the little red barn every Monday evening as Ron Baker, Master Storyteller, introduced the listeners to a tale of wolves in the dead of winter. A great story to settle young and even younger visitors for an evening of storytelling, fun, and camaraderie. On the 2nd Monday each month there was an opportunity for ‘listeners’ to become ‘tellers’ and share a story of their own.
Ron shared 28 different titles over three months, 123 stories in all, with an average of 20 people each evening. Visitors to the Story Barn wrote in the guest book, saying:
“A delight to be entertained in the old-fashioned way”, “thank you for making us laugh with your super stories”, and “thank you for the magic.”
Firm favourites at the Story Barn are “The Dancing Skeleton”, “Moysher”, “The Selfish Giant”, and “The Blue Faience Hippopotamus.”
Donations to The Stephen Lewis Foundation this year totaled $961.15.
Thank you Ron for another season of great stories!
