Maple Leaf Foods and Hellyer’s Foodland joined together to host a BBQ fundraiser for Lion’s Head Minor Baseball in the parking lot of Hellyer’s Foodland on 29 July 2026. The goal was to raise $1,000, and due to generous donations, they were able to meet and even exceed their goal slightly by raising a total of $1,085.
The local league plays at Ferndale baseball diamond from Monday to Thursday, during the months of May to August. This season there are 7 teams of 15 players each and 45 T-ballers.
