Diana Licskai, one of 12 permanent member artists, has lived in the Northern Bruce Peninsula for over 10 years. Her work in acrylic draws inspiration from tranquil walks along The Bruce Trail, the serene views of Georgian Bay, and the ever-changing beauty of trees and her flower garden. Roadside landscapes and quiet moments in the forest spark her creativity, allowing her to capture the peaceful feelings that nature evokes. Her art reflects these soothing, natural vistas and the sense of calm that they inspire.
Aria Thomas, currently an arts specialist major at Saugeen District Secondary School in Port Elgin, grew up in Lion’s Head and is completing an arts co-op at the Red Schoolhouse Gallery. She has been creating art since she was old enough to hold a crayon. There has never been a time in her life when art wasn’t a passion. This year, Aria has been exploring a variety of different mediums, including water colour and pastels and is currently finessing her pen and ink and realism skills. Aria hopes to continue her arts education at the post-secondary level when she graduates next spring.
During July and August, the Red Schoolhouse Gallery is open every Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm. The gallery is located at 2866 Hwy 6 in Ferndale, ON.
