(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On July 11, 2026, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit were conducting proactive marine patrols on Lake Huron in the Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers conducted a vessel inspection and observed open alcoholic beverage containers on board. As a result of the investigation, officers initiated an impaired operation investigation.
The operator of the vessel was subsequently arrested.
A 64-year-old, from South Bruce Peninsula, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
• Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 20, 2026.
In addition, the accused’s driver’s licence was administratively suspended for 90 days, as required by statute.
Boater Safety Reminder
The OPP reminds all boaters that impaired operation laws apply on the water just as they do on roadways. Alcohol and drugs can impair judgment, reaction time, balance, and decision-making, significantly increasing the risk of collisions, falls overboard, and drowning.
Before heading out on the water:
-Designate a sober operator.
-Never consume alcohol or drugs before or while operating a vessel.
-Ensure all required safety equipment is on board and readily accessible.
-Wear a properly fitted lifejacket or personal flotation device (PFD).
-Plan your trip and monitor weather and water conditions before departing.

Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Fentanyl Seized During Traffic Stop in Georgian Bluffs
(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of suspected illicit drugs with an estimated street value exceeding $42,000.
On July 11, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a Grey Bruce OPP officer was conducting proactive patrol on Grey Road 3 near Sideroad 3 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. While on patrol, the officer’s Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted to a vehicle associated with a Highway Traffic Act violation.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. During the interaction, the officer observed cannabis products within the vehicle, which led to a further investigation and search of the vehicle.
As a result of the search, police located and seized the following with approximate quantities:
-176 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $17,600
-199.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $19,900
-19.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $4,750
The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $42,250.
Based on common street-level quantities, the drugs seized represent approximately:
-176 individual sales of cocaine (sold by the gram)
-1,991 individual sales of methamphetamine (sold by the gram)
-194 individual sales of fentanyl (sold by the point)
The driver was arrested without incident.
A 26-year-old, of Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
Criminal Code (CC)
• Operation While Prohibited
Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
• Drive While Suspended
• Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Permit
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)
• Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
Cannabis Control Act (CCA)
• Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound and was remanded into custody.

Theft of Topsoil Screener
(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a Topsoil Screener from a residence in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
On July 10, 2026, Grey Bruce OPP received a report of a stolen Topsoil Screener from a property located on Concession Road 21, near Thompsons Sideroad. The Topsoil Screener is believed to have been stolen sometime between July 1 and July 9, 2026.
The stolen Topsoil Screener is described as: 8 ft, Electric, North 42 Topsoil Screener.
